Voiceworks #127 is all aglimmer!

Gleam is a very special edition of Voiceworks.

In our latest issue of Winter 2022, you can find memoir about nude candles, poetry about Bento lunches, relationships gone stale and long distance friendships preserved in knickknacks. Pore over essays on the secret lives of fruitbats, globalization in the Himalayan foothills and experimental writing on self-commodification. Devour a spread of comics and art about cicadas, dark chocolate cults and baby dragons, along with illustrations by Stella Hong. Get lost in short stories about the long buried language of Atlantean, teenagers on the moon, disappearing grandmothers and receding waterbodies. Absorb wisdom from an interview with author and Voiceworks alumnus Eda Gunaydin.

Get your hands on a copy of Gleam via our online store.

The digital launch of ‘Gleam’ features a glittering lineup, including readings from the poet jax bulstrode, fictioneers Faye Chang and Andrea Salvador, as well as essayists Torsten Strokirch and Madhvi Thakur, as well as introductions from Voiceworks’ new editor and designer, Zowie Douglas-Kinghorn and Cecile Richard.

It should look a bit like this once you’ve logged in.

The launch of Gleam took place on Thursday 18 August, 6pm-7pm AEST. If you like you can go in and watch the launch video there.
